France Titane

The event brought together experts from the titanium industry to discuss the economic importance of this strategic metal and explore the latest innovations in its use. OFREMI was represented by Aurélien Reys, a mineral intelligence analyst at BRGM.

Titanium, a lightweight and corrosion-resistant metal, has become essential in the aerospace and defense sectors. Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine have significantly impacted global supply chains.

The closure of the sponge titanium plant in Zaporijia and the gradual withdrawal of Russia have deeply affected the sector, while countries like China have been able to capitalize on this new strategic landscape.

During his presentation, Reys provided an overview of the main challenges facing the titanium value chain, from mining extraction to the production of semi-finished products.

OFREMI would like to thank France Titanium for the invitation to participate in these high-quality presentations and engaging discussions on the geopolitics of titanium.
