A booming lithium market

Numerous exchanges took place between experts, companies, and institutional stakeholders, who discussed the critical challenges linked to lithium extraction a sector undergoing rapid transformation.

The massive adoption of Li-ion technologies in the automotive industry is driving demand sky-high, and projections show a sixfold increase in this demand by 2040!

French companies are stepping up 🇫🇷

Major groups such as Eramet, Imerys, Veolia Water Technologies, and promising start-ups like Geolith and Lithium de France shared their innovative strategies to meet this rising demand.
DIRECT LITHIUM EXTRACTION (DLE) technologies were at the heart of the discussions and could significantly disrupt current extraction methods.

Bold ambitions for the future

With upcoming lithium refining plant projects and strengthened collaboration between public and private stakeholders, the future of lithium looks promising for France — and for the energy transition.

This event was also an opportunity to reaffirm its mission of supporting its partners in gaining a better understanding and deeper knowledge of the markets, leading to strategic analyses and targeted recommendations.

Regarding lithium, key results shared with partners included a study on the sensitivity of European demand under different supply scenarios and modeling of the environmental impacts across various lithium production pathways.

The expertise of the French lithium industry deserves to be showcased internationally  and even more so within Europe, as highlighted throughout the discussions!
